Programme Structure

The Preparatory Year at West University of Timișoara, is structured as a full-time, campus-based programme hosted by the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology. Students are grouped according to language level and follow a unified curriculum that builds from basic communication skills to advanced academic Romanian over two semesters.

The programme’s plan of study is formally approved and published annually as “Planul de învățământ” for the cohort (Promoția 2025–2026), and assessment follows WUT’s official exam calendar.

Semester 1 (approx. Year 1 – Foundations)

Focus on fundamental Romanian grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and everyday communication. Introductory courses in Romanian culture and civilisation familiarise students with history, society and contemporary life.
