Programme Structure

The Preparatory year at the University of Pitești, is organised as a single academic year (two semesters) at the Faculty of Education Sciences, Social Sciences and Psychology. It combines core language training with discipline-specific Romanian, ensuring students can progress directly into degree programmes taught in Romanian at UPIT or other Romanian universities.

Preparatory year at the University of Pitești – First Semester

During Semester 1, students focus on general Romanian: phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Classes emphasise everyday communication, academic study skills and basic terminology relevant to university life and administration. Cultural modules familiarise students with Romanian history, society and contemporary culture, supporting social and academic integration.

Preparatory year at the University of Pitești – Second Semester

In Semester 2 of Preparatory year at the University of Pitești(UPIT), the emphasis shifts to specialised language linked to the student’s intended field of study: biomedical and life sciences, humanities and art, juridical sciences, engineering sciences, economic sciences  and eventually, psychology.
